Dear readers,
In this edition of our monthly newsletter, we will delve into the captivating world of Etro Residences Phuket—a groundbreaking new development that brings the iconic fashion brand into the realm of Southeast Asian luxury real estate. Guiding us through this journey are Yana and Aleksandr Chuvalov, who will share insights into the “developer’s mindset” and reveal some of the most intriguing aspects of this exceptional project.
Unveiled last week during Milan Design Week 2025, Etro Residences Phuket marks ETRO’s debut in Southeast Asia’s real estate market. The project features eight exclusive beachfront units, comprising elegantly designed three-bedroom apartments and duplexes that perfectly blend high-end design with ETRO’s distinctive aesthetic and heritage.
Let’s dive into the interview.
The eight residences in this project are a true gem in Phuket. What qualities of Etro inspired you to choose it for their branding?
Etro represents far more than fashion — it embodies a lifestyle of individuality, refined creativity, and bold aesthetic expression. These values deeply resonate with the vision behind Gardens of Eden by Amal Development. Today’s luxury buyers are seeking more than just a beautiful home — they are looking for a space that reflects their personality, aspirations, and values. Etro’s strong design language, commitment to craftsmanship, and emphasis on artistic storytelling made it a natural fit for a branded residence concept. The collaboration allows us to create homes that are not only luxurious, but deeply meaningful and emotionally engaging — a true reflection of lifestyle-oriented luxury living.
Explain the location and the most interesting aspects about it.
Gardens of Eden is located in our private Luxury District on Phuket’s prestigious west coast — just 50 meters from protected beaches, a national park, and world-class five-star resorts with championship golf courses. It’s a rare setting that offers both natural immersion and lifestyle sophistication.
The location provides residents with direct beach access, 5 minutes to essential daily services, and is only 20 minutes from the international airport — making it an ideal address for both international buyers and Thai residents.
Surrounded by lush tropical landscapes, this area offers a sense of timeless serenity while remaining connected to Phuket’s finest restaurants, beach clubs, and cultural highlights. It’s a place where nature, privacy, and effortless access come together — a destination that embodies the very essence of luxury living in harmony with the land.
Given Phuket’s growing real estate market, what makes this development stand out among other high-end residential projects in the area?
Gardens of Eden is a rare vision brought to life — a private, low-density sanctuary where 70% of the land is dedicated to lush tropical gardens, lakes, and nature-focused spaces. This balance between architecture and environment is at the core of our philosophy.
What sets the project apart is its scale and depth: a secure, master-planned community that combines refined residences with a full spectrum of lifestyle amenities — restaurants, wellness zones, a kids club, underground parking, and personalized services.
In a market filled with high-density and hotel-style offerings, Gardens of Eden offers something truly different: space, serenity, and a strong sense of place — designed for those who see luxury as a way of living, not just a price point.
Can you give us insight into what do you expect of the design process and what elements are prioritized at this initial phase?
At this early stage, we are focused on establishing a clear and cohesive design narrative — one that reflects both Etro’s distinctive identity and the natural richness of Phuket. We prioritize authenticity, materiality, and emotional connection, ensuring that each residence feels timeless, warm, and artfully composed. The collaboration with Etro ensures that every detail — from spatial planning to textures and finishes — aligns with a globally recognized brand language. We also place great emphasis on balance: between bold design statements and calm, livable spaces; between aesthetic ambition and functional comfort.
Phuket is known for its stunning natural surroundings—how is the project integrating with the local environment and landscape?
The essence of this project lies in our guiding philosophy: Luxury of Nature. From the beginning, we set out to create a place where elevated living could exist in harmony with the island’s raw beauty — not despite it, but because of it. Our low-density concept allows for expansive green zones, tranquil lakes, and native landscaping that celebrates the island’s ecology. Architectural lines follow the rhythm of the terrain, while materials are chosen to echo the textures and tones of the local environment.
Together with Etro’s creative direction, we are crafting a residence that is both a luxurious retreat and a tribute to Phuket’s natural spirit. It’s a delicate balance — comfort, privacy, and exclusivity on one side, and a deep respect for nature on the other. The result is an ecosystem of design, wellness, and meaning — one that we believe will set a new benchmark for lifestyle-oriented living in Thailand.
What is your target clientele? Second home buyers, investors?
Our primary audience includes high-net-worth individuals and families — both local and international — who value design, privacy, and lifestyle. Many are second-home buyers from Europe, the UK, and Russia, looking for a refined tropical retreat. Others are long-term investors seeking assets with strong branding, service potential, and capital appreciation. But above all, our clientele is lifestyle-oriented: people who see their residence not just as a place to stay, but as an extension of their values, social identity, and personal rhythm.
How did you come into contact with The One Atelier? Even if the collaboration only just stared: how do you feel about it?
Our collaboration with The One Atelier felt like a natural alignment. With over two decades of expertise in luxury branded real estate, they bring a unique ability to translate brand identity into architectural language and spatial experience. Their refined aesthetic and deep understanding of high-end clientele resonate strongly with our own vision for Gardens of Eden.
Though the partnership is still in its early stages, we are confident that their experience and creative energy will contribute to the success of what we believe will become one of Phuket’s most iconic residential projects.
Our conversation with Yana and Aleksandr Chuvalov offered a compelling glimpse into a project that redefines what luxury can mean in the modern world. Etro Residences Phuket is more than just a collection of beautiful homes — it’s a thoughtful embodiment of individuality, creativity, and harmonious living within nature.
Through their partnership with ETRO and The One Atelier, the Chuvalovs are crafting a destination where architecture, landscape, and lifestyle merge into a singular, emotionally resonant experience. With its low-density philosophy, design-forward vision, and deep respect for the local environment, Gardens of Eden stands poised to set a new standard for branded residences in Southeast Asia.
As this ambitious journey unfolds, one thing is clear: Etro Residences Phuket is not only a statement of style — it’s a new way of living.
Stay with us as we continue to follow the evolution of this remarkable project.
